On Friday, the Manitoba government announced that it was providing $13.7 million in funding for the Manitoba Arts Council this year, an increase of $1 million.

This investment in the Manitoba arts and cultural sector will provide extra support to artists, arts and cultural professionals, Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, arts groups, arts organizations, and not-for-profit community organizations across the province.

Alongside this news, MAC is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to our Board: Katarina Kupca, our new Chair; Kate Fenske; and Carolyn Gwyer.

MAC would like to thank outgoing Board members Naomi Forman and Jeffrey King for their service. As well, MAC would like to thank outgoing Chair Roberta Christianson, who served on the MAC Board for a cumulative 15 years over two terms.
