When you are awarded a MAC grant, you must complete a final report on the project within 18 months of being awarded.
If you have an outstanding final report, you cannot submit any more applications until the final report has been submitted and approved by MAC.
Final reports are necessary to measure the impact of MAC grants, ensure that public funding was spent as intended, and complete the granting cycle for accounting purposes.
Completing your report
Each grant has a unique final report form. Some common sections include:
- Describing the project and its results
- Submitting an updated budget
- Describing the impact of your project
- Describing how you maintained cultural integrity
- Providing statistical information
- Indicating where your project took place
- Providing feedback on MAC’s granting process
You do not need to submit receipts for project expenses with your final report, but MAC reserves the right to request them.
Along with your final report, you can share images or recordings with MAC from your project. This is not mandatory, but it can be a good opportunity to share your work with the MAC team. With your permission, your work could also be selected for an artist feature on social media, posted on MAC’s website, or shared in our publications.
Submit your report online
To complete your final report, log into Manipogo, MAC’s online application system, and open the final report form associated with your grant in the “Requires attention” section. Your report form will be available as soon as you complete your funding agreement.
Submit your report offline
If you have limited internet access or accessibility needs and would prefer to fill out your final report offline (by paper or PDF form), contact the MAC Help Desk.
Requesting an extension
If you cannot complete your final report within 18 months of being awarded your grant, you can contact the MAC program consultant associated with your grant to request a 6-month extension from the due date. You can request this extension before or after the initial due date.
Note: an extension will not be applied to your final report automatically. If your final report deadline has passed, and you have not requested an extension, you will not be able to submit a new application in Manipogo.
Revisions to your final report
After you submit your final report, a MAC program consultant will review it. If your final report does not include complete or sufficient information, you may be asked to revise your report. The program consultant will contact you with specific revision requests.
Grant payment
Project grants are paid in two instalments. The first payment is 90% of the award and will be paid once you have completed the funding agreement, but no earlier than one month before to the start date of your project.
The second payment is the last 10% of the award and will be paid once your final report has been approved by MAC.
If you have not submitted your final report within 24 months of being awarded and you have not been in contact with MAC about an extension, you will not receive the last 10% of your grant.
