Deep Bay Residency Project
Residency dates: August 8 to 21
While in residence, Charlene will be working on a new play The Hunt (working title). The final staged production will be a play that is moved along (literally) by the audience’s own sense of curiosity and adventure, in a kind of theatrical scavenger hunt all over Winnipeg’s Exchange District. As in a scavenger hunt, the audience will be split up into small groups following actors throughout the variety of scenes and settings (inside and out) picking up plot points and connections along the way. The Exchange District’s dual existence of historic and modern elements is her inspiration for the different scenes which will culminate in one large group finale in a participating establishment.
