If you are D/deaf or living with a disability and applying for a MAC grant, you can apply for funding to help cover the costs of disability-related services and supports for your project. You may also be eligible if you represent a D/deaf and disability arts/cultural group or organization.
MAC awards this funding on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that our Accessibility funds can run out throughout the year, depending on demand. This is why we strongly recommend that you contact MAC Help Desk before applying.
Funds can either be paid directly to the applicant (you) or to the service provider.
- Deadline: You can submit a request any time between starting your application and submitting your final report.
- Amount: up to $2,000 per grant

Quote from your service provider
To assess your funding request, we need an estimate of the cost of the service from your provider. The service provider can send you their own quote, or they can use our Quote Template.
If you have already received the service and have an invoice from the service provider, you can submit the invoice instead of a quote with your request form.
If you would like MAC to pay the service provider directly, and you have multiple service providers, you must submit an individual form for each service provider.
How will my request be assessed?
MAC staff review each request on the following criteria:
- You have submitted a reasonable budget
- MAC has funds available
Your request for financial assistance is confidential and will not impact the assessment of your current or future grant applications. MAC does not include financial assistance for accessibility in our grants listing. Financial assistance is also not included in MAC’s annual $30K grant limit.
I’ve submitted my request – what’s next?
If you’ve already been awarded a MAC grant: you will be contacted within two weeks of submitting your request.
If your MAC grant hasn’t been assessed yet: you will be contacted within two weeks of receiving your grant results.
- If your grant is awarded, and financial assistance funds are available, you will receive the funds within 15 business days.
- If your grant is declined, you will not receive financial assistance.
The funds will be paid either to the applicant or directly to the service provider. Please specify your preference on the Request form.
