Creative Road 2015: The Journey Continues…

Each year, MAC hosts The Creative Road Conference, a professional development conference for artists who teach.

This year, stakeholders gathered in the MTYP rehearsal hall on Saturday April 18 to explore what it takes to reimagine the integration and enrichment of the arts experience in Manitoban schools through long-term community-wide partnerships. The conference focused on:

– What do we value and how do we get there together?
– What are the trends, changes, factors, and purposes that seek this stronger collaboration?

Participants included key arts educationalists, artists participating in MAC’s school residency programs and members of arts organizations with programming for youth engaged in youth programming. David O’Fallon, president of the Minnesota Humanities Center led the series of conversations and spoke with the gathering over lunch.

MAC is committed to continuing to convene similar gatherings in communities across the province as part of its commitment to supporting and promoting the arts as an essential component of educational excellence.
