Hybrid Human is an athletic and compelling dance work for an ensemble of dancers. Socially relevant and thought provoking, this presentation look at the impact technology has on humanity. Contemporary living is dominated by watching a screen, be it a computer, cell phone, movie, ipad or television. These screens filter information and are how we make sense of experiencing our day-to-day world. Hybrid Human is like an interactive screen that holds the potential to morph into a mirror. Through precision, physical strength, sound and video, a dialogue for an emotional and transformative interdisciplinary experience is created. Hybrid Human was created in conjunction with the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s exhibition, Wanda Koop… On the Edge of Experience. It has been performed at the National Gallery of Canada, and as part of Prairie Scene presented by The National Arts Centre in Ottawa, as well as in Winnipeg, Toronto and Vancouver. The response to Hybrid Human has been tremendous and this ensemble work is an experience unto itself. Program may include mixed repertoire and will be selected specifically for audience and venues.
