Jacques Jake Chénier

Jacques Jake Chénier has performed for hundreds of schools and festivals throughout Canada and the United States for over two decades. Jake’s wide variety of musical and cultural experiences, from his French-Canadian heritage to his travels in Asia and Latin America, are evident in his lively performances. Jake received a Juno Award nomination for “Walking in the Sun” and won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for his song entitled “Buzz Buzzity Buzz.” As a recording artist, Jake has produced four CDs of sing along songs for the whole family.


Jake offers solo performances and duo shows with Don Benedictson on fretless bass and vocals. Jake’s multidimensional, high-energy show includes singalong action songs, juggling, storytelling, and onstage audience participation. His spirited concerts encourage all ages to join in the fun in an eclectic mix of musical styles including folk, Latin, reggae, Cajun, and rock ’n roll. Jake also performs adult songs for festivals and communities interested in an additional adult evening concert.
