Writing Through The Pain: A songwriting workshop and Live Music Concert
Writing Through The Pain is a live music concert/ songwriting workshop presented by In The Closet Productions “a voice for the voiceless” that aims to create, promote and distribute inspirational, original, music and art that helps to inspire positive social change.
In this 3 hour workshop, all participants will learn about the process of songwriting, how to turn poems into songs, and how to draw from their own life stories as inspiration for their songs. They will learn how to use songwriting as a creative form of therapy and also about the importance of writing positive songs with loving messages that help to bring awareness to important social issues. Each participant will learn to write their own song and some will perform it live with musical accompaniment at the workshop.
In addition, during the last 45 mins of the workshop all the participants will be treated to a live music concert by Ingrid D. Johnson and her band The Funky Fresh Crew.
Who Should Attend?
An inspirational, and interactive songwriting workshop open to the general public, at risk youths, highschool students, new immigrants, victims of abuse and also people suffering from various forms of trauma.
