Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous is a non-profit arts organization made up of volunteer house concert hosts dedicated to the love of folk, roots and classical music, to making the music more accessible to a greater number of people, and to supporting the artists who make the music. Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous is an organized approach to planning home-based shows that ensures a fun time for the presenter and the artist.
Home Route/Chemin Chez Nous s is about world-class musicians, known and unknown alike, performing complete concerts in the comfortable intimacy of private homes. They are fun to attend, fun to present, and fun to play. Imagine your living room as a concert hall with 25-40 of your closest friends and their closest friends gathered for an evening of great music. Imagine great artists delivering the same show in your living room that they would present at a folk festival or concert hall.
Home Routes offers musicians up to12 consecutive, geographically accessible performances over two weeks. Concert hosts provide performers bed, breakfast and dinner.
All proceeds from admissions and product sales go directly to musicians, who make new friends and fans and connect with audiences in a way not possible in large-scale concerts.
“We had an absolutely wonderful evening…with Mark Reeves. He is a truly amazing performer and was perfect as our first concert. Our lives are enriched by having him stay with us. It has been a pleasure hosting him. We are looking forward to our next concert already!” –Gord & Lynne Driedger-Enns, Concert hosts
