The Council uses the peer assessment process to award most grants. Juries and panels of professional artists who practise in the art forms represented by the applications meet to discuss and recommend awards. The Council accepts the decisions of juries and panels. Some applications are assessed by the Program Consultant, and the Council makes the decision to award the grant, based on the published criteria applied to the program.
