Manitoba Arts Council Statement of Commitment to Accessibility

The Manitoba Arts Council is committed to the principles of equal access and participation for all people, whatever their abilities.

With the advice and guidance of the community, we will work to address visible and invisible barriers and meet all requirements of the Accessibility for Manitobans Act.

An Accessibility Advisory Council is guiding our work to develop a policy framework and an Accessibility Plan for the first standard of the Act, The Customer Service Standard, to ensure we are compliant prior to the November 2017 requirement.

Our Accessibility Advisory Council is comprised of:

MAC office in Brandon

The City of Brandon’s Community Development Department and the Manitoba Arts Council (MAC) will continue the MAC Brandon office in the Cultural Resource Centre in the A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex in Brandon in 2016-17.

The office remains important to the City of Brandon’s community engagement initiatives as well as the Manitoba Arts Council’s mission of promoting, preserving, supporting, and advocating for the arts as essential to the quality of life of all the people of Manitoba.

The Manitoba Arts Council will hold office hours for consultations and meetings in the Cultural Resource Centre on and around the third Thursday and following Friday of the following months: September, October, January, March, April, and May.…

MAC Thanks David R. Scott

David ScottThe board and staff of the Manitoba Art Council would like to thank David R. Scott for 11 years of service at MAC.

David began working at MAC in 1996 as the Music and Dance Officer for 3 years. He returned to MAC in 2008 as the Associate Director of Granting Programs. His commitment to MAC’s programs and the MAC team is greatly appreciated.

We wish him the best as he moves on to the next steps in his career.

Office Closed September 7th

The Manitoba Arts Council office will be closed on Wednesday, September 7th. All MAC staff will be engaged in a full day program review session. The office will be open again on Thursday, September 8th.

Introducing Elyse Saurette, MAC’s Voice on Social Media

Elyse has a BFA for the University of Manitoba and has been working for MAC for 3 years. Elyse grew up in Saint-Boniface and is actively involved in Manitoba’s francophone community.

We look forward to sharing a broad range of posts from the local, provincial, national and international arts scene to fire the imagination!
