The Grants for Juried Shows program is available to provide partial support to not-for-profit galleries and cultural organizations for the development and presentation of juried shows. All disciplines in the visual arts including film, video and performance are considered. Priority is given to programs that focus on artists living and working in Manitoba.
Eligibility
Not-for-profit corporations that are registered in Manitoba may apply to host showings of visual art. These shows must be adjudicated by professional artists, be presented to the general public and include a brochure or publication.
Juried shows are defined in various categories:
- shows restricted to artists from a particular region in Manitoba;
- shows that are open to all residents of Manitoba;
- shows that are provincial in scope but defined by a theme or purpose;
- shows that are interprovincial or national in scope.
Regional Juried Shows:
Each year six regional juried art shows are supported by the Manitoba Art’s Council’s Juried Art Shows program. These shows occur in the Westman, Parkland, Interlake, Central, Norman and Eastman regions of Manitoba. In each region, the shows are presented by communities that are part of a rotating schedule that allows them to host on a 2-3 year cycle.
