  • The Manitoba Arts Council’s annual operating budget for 2008 – 2009 was $9,586,655.00 or $7.87 per Manitoban.
  •  In 2008 – 2009, MAC awarded a total of $5,471,800.00 in annual operating funding towards 48 professional arts organizations, large and small.
  •  In 2008 – 2009 MAC awarded grants totaling $1,353,853.00 to 279 individual applicants, (not including Student Bursaries) 40 of them first time applicants.
  •  Of the individual grants awarded in 2008 – 2009, 83.5% were awarded to artists living in the Winnipeg region and 16.5% went to artists beyond the perimeter.
  •  In 2008 – 2009, MAC used 159 jurors and assessors from 29 cities in eight provinces, and two from the United States.
  •  In 2008 – 2009 the Aboriginal Creative Development Projects; Mentorship Training and Development; and Travel grants funded 22 Aboriginal artists, eight of whom were rural-based, to a total of $87,511.00.
  •  In 2008 – 2009, Community Connections and Access grants of $85,470 were awarded to underserved or disadvantaged groups as persons with disabilities, ethno-cultural groups, rural groups, northern groups, persons of Aboriginal heritage, and youth. The program also supported artist-in-the-community development.
  •  In 2008 – 2009 MAC contributed to the costs of having 48 artists or arts groups perform or provide workshops in 185 schools in 99 communities.
