ArtsSmarts Program

All Aboard…The Journey Begins – Grosvenor School, a K-6 public school in Winnipeg School Division, has been working on a 3-year inquiry study of Human Rights, in conjunction with the new Canadian Museum of Human Rights which is being built in Winnipeg. In Year 2 of their collaboration with visual artist Bud Gillies, the students created a multi-media installation based on their studies. Classes in each grade came together to pack a suitcase that represents various rights, from affection and love, to a home, to education and play. Students in grade five honoured Canada’s First Peoples and grade six students researched human rights leaders.
