Paul Phillips and Caroline Monnet at Argyle Alternative School, Winnipeg
Students derived the subject matter for their individual zines from social justice and environmental stewardship issues that were personal, local, or global in their scope.
With guidance from artists, Paul Phillips (screenprinter, graphic designer, writer, and publisher), and Caroline Monnet (filmmaker and printmaker), students worked to visually and textually represent their insights in creating their individual zines.
At the Martha Street Studio, students were taught the basics of printmaking as well as binding techniques. Multiple copies of each zine were made and distributed by students.
