Johanne Gingras – 2014 Deep Bay Artists’ Residency

DEEP BAY 2014
JUNE 23-29

RWB School Teacher Training Program Director

Johanne is a graduate of the National Ballet School Teacher Training Program and joined the RWB School in 1984. She holds Licentiate teaching qualifications with the Cecchetti Society of Canada and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. As a choreographer, Joanne has created numerous pieces for the RWB School’s Professional Division and has also choreographed several productions for the Manitoba Opera Association. She is highly sought-after as an international guest teacher.

Residency project: Arlene and Johanne will be working on completing curriculum documents for the RWB School. Fundamental to the success of the school is the development of curriculum that clearly outlines the methods adapted by the RWB. This project incorporates work that has been in progress for the last eight years. When completed, the curriculum will represent the core of the RWB faculty’s work, creating a living tool for future teachers at the RWB.
